A big step towards design

Whelp, LinkedIn spilled the beans. As of September 2nd, I am fortunate to be joining the SpearOS team as its Founding Design Engineer.

Working with MergerAI has been an absolute pleasure and fills me with gratitude to be able to take Ernie’s vision from a mere prototype to a product that is pulling in customers. MergerAI is a truly exciting solution to business due diligence challenges and I couldn’t have asked for a better environment for embracing agentic development. Our product is unrecognizable from what it looked like last year, for nothing but the best reasons. While vibe-coded apps were shipping slop, we kept a tight ship. Focusing on infrastructure-as-code and a well structured monorepo made for amazing agent-capability before we knew that would be a paradigm that mattered.

Throughout my career I've gravitated toward front-end work, only to end up responsible for the entire stack anyway. While it’s been paramount in becoming a strong web engineer, working at SpearOS will mark the first time my responsibility is focused on the user’s experience and the visual language of the product. I could not be more excited.

I am already struggling to “stay in my lane” and not make backend edits when the code is right there in front of me. Luckily I’m in good hands with the unmatched discipline and direction behind the entire team. I’m finally sharing the kitchen in which I cook and can finally ignore the soup. Time to whip up the best meat the moving industry has been waiting for.
